Tru-Therm at Scott Base

Normally Tru-Therm™ Insulated Sectional Doors are installed to keep the cold in!  But in this case, they're used to keep the cold out at the New Zealand Base Camp in Antarctica.

Tru-Bilt was thrilled to supply a total of six Tru-Therm™ doors for this construction project; four at the container docking area of an incoming goods warehouse, and two for the "warm porch" leading to another specialised storage area.

It was a challenging job for the installation team from Leighs Construction who worked in endless daylight at temperatures as low at -35°C, however these are exactly the kind of conditions Tru-Therm™ doors are cut-out for and they have been working reliably year after year for almost a decade now.

These doors have been so durable and dependable that demand has spread, and since the initial installation more have been requested by the Commonwealth Government of Australia for their base camp at the Casey Station.

Tru-Therm™ doors provide verifiable protection against Antarctic temperatures, so you'll find them perfect for chillers and freezers in your cold store. Get in touch with us for world-class thermal protection today.
